Need a new suit, share your experience

So now I need a new suit, I'd like to stay around 1000$ Please share your experiences with any manufacturer. I'm open to about anything, Komodo, Alpinestar, Pilot, Dainese, Heroic, ect. Tell me what you would buy please

I've heard good things about Spartan Leathers and they're custom(they also offer off the rack options). They will take longer than an off the rack suit though.

And I agree with Ben on the fieldsheer. I had a minor lowside in mine and they got pretty banged up.

Leif, - go custom.
I think you will have a hard time to find anything which will really fit you.
You donot want to think about your suit while you are riding.
I think Cody has a story to tell about his not so cooperative suit.

Anyway, Roger likes NJK (I think) and yes you have to pay a little more, but the thing will fit. And I am sure it will smell differently than Rogers'

Thanks for the tips guys, I'll check out the brands you suggested. I found a brand new Aplinestar RC-1 suit that I can get for 550$ shipped but I think I'd like to go custom do to the sizing issues.

Taichi. Suit has 2 80mph hi-sides. 2 40mph low sides. Not a mark on me from any of them. Suit paint looks scuffed here and there but no structure damage. Racesbikes aka Brian Bernard has a ton of crashes on the same suit.
Other good suits too I'm sure..... Just don't have experience with em.

As far as off the rack, Taichi, I've seen way too many alpinestars fall apart in the past couple years now to even consider them. Same with Feildsheer and a few others.

Ballistik Apparel is somehow associated with Adrenaline in Mesa.

Ballistik answered a solicitation email from a stitchery in Pakistan, and ordered a number of suits. Beyond that I don't know the details, it's between them and the factory in Pakistan.

Talk to people who've raced in them (and are not sponsored by them) before making a decision, is my recommendation.

Yeah Jake's suit is from Ballistik and is pretty sweet, but I dont know of anyone else with one and they start around 1500$

I'm currently looking at Taichi and Pilot, anyone with experience with Pilot suits?

Search on BARF, Pilot's one of the popular suits there (as are Helimot).

ACT is really popular in SoCal, NJK fairly so.
