Just want to say, i had a great time out there (even if i didnt ride) and i really enjoyed the 'old schoolness' of this event.....i had fun, hope everybody else did also .....even if my team didnt finisb

Congrats to the winners, Team Brown Eye (Mike Brown, Brian Eves, Marios Burgos and some old fart).
It was a lot of fun. My team did fantastic. Tough to compete against a MW bike.
Second was Team Sandbagger (Marios Burgos, Greg Talbot, David Hurtado and Brian Long) -5 laps or so on an SV650.
Third was Team Astro Glide (Roger chain smoker, Ken Murray, Jason Brown and Tony "twink" Tavitas) -25 laps or so on an NT650.

it was still fully my goal to take you out, Greg. Unfortunately, when I decided to dive bomb you into 111R and lose the front, you were already several corners ahead of me through the esses.. Although my timing wasn't perfect, and I hate dunlops on the hawk, I had a blast, too. Thanks to Roger for manning up and letting me continue to earn my reputation riding other people's bikes.

Not really, Greg's team was strong, really strong. Unless we had equal horsepower we were definitely going to lose to them, and even then we may not have been able to beat them.

Tony, you had your chance when I passed you in the hot pit if you'll recall. I was hoping to lap you before your stint ended, but not in that way.
I honestly did not know David Hurtado would be that fast. He did lose 4 laps with the crash so........

And how many laps behind third place was team Ninjette??
I am sure that the ninjette was ON the track (not in the pits) for more time then any other bike. Trouble is with a 350 to 400 cc smaller motor, and box stock, you can only go so fast. and still have a couple of race weekends left on the tires.

Either way, it gave me a laugh.

Enjoyed meeting people and watching until I got too hot. Haven't gotten used to the heat as yet. Old guys from Alaska take a bit to acclimate. Appreciate the hospitality everyone showed us, look forward to coming back down and riding.

That may be what gave the Hawk 3rd place. Our plan was for Ben to stay out till he had to switch the gas to reserve. He came by a few times and did a few things that Guy and myself were thinking was the signal. so we gave him a few more laps and called him in..
The reather loose plan was to let all three of us do one more session to finish the race after gassing up. But somehow that plan got changed..Seems I was still doing ok lap times so they just let me keep going. So I did. till I almost lost it (again) going into the bus stop.. I kept it on the track but the ordeal caused my arms and hands to tense up. At that time I told myself "Self you are toast- should have gone in a long time ago"
Guy did a fantistic job of riding for a new racer on a strange bike set up with GP shift pattern (which he has never used before)
Ben was great on the little ninjette I loved every lap he did. He kept getting faster and faster even set a ninjette lap record 1:25.2 Would like to see what he could do with a good setup and quick turn throttle..And to think I only paid 700 dollars for the thing. If only I had the grand or so for a rear shock and good fork valving - so that it would handle..
