Lap of Honor for Alex this weekend.

Postby Roger@Arroyo » Mon Oct 08, 2012 7:13 pm

I just wanted to give a heads up to everyone that we will be doing a parade lap honoring Alex Aguirre on Sunday approximately 30 minutes before the Formula Amateur race, or halfway through lunch.

Anyone who wishes to take the lap, including non racing friends, may do so.
Mario Aguirre, Alex's brother will lead the parade.

Those with AA shirts are encouraged to wear them as well.

Only met him twice. Seemed like a very awesome young guy. Would proudly ride the lap for him.

To answer a question, the reason it is being done at lunch is because the lap is open to anyone who wants to do it, not just racers. Quite a few people do not get here before we start racing.

Doing it in the middle of lunchtime, there is still time for our amateur racers to get back on tire warmers and be ready for their race. Since it is a speed controlled lap, leathers will not be required, only helmets.
