Congrats to Cody, Alex, Zack , Raul and Evan for putting in some fast laps this weekend.

Special thanks goes out to Greg, Roger and Mickey, for keeping me positive and pushing me forward and helping me get the gsxr back together for the weekend. Also , Phil from ESP for working on my bike all Saturday afternoon.. I couldn't have done as well as I did without you guys.. Thank you !!

I thought the track was going to be primo this weekend. Lots of personal best times were shattered which comes as no surprise.
I actually enjoyed helping with Ole Smokey's (Mickey Rupe) bike after the fire. Mostly I just stood back and watched Phil and Josh do the real work.
Gotta feel sorry for those that missed the fun we had.

"After the Fire" sounds like a good name for a band. Oh... wait...

What happened?

Mickey, excuse me, Ole Smokey's fuel line came off the pump side after he started it up since the slide lock wasn't seated. The bike was still hot from the qualifying session so you can imagine what happened next. My own fire extinguisher went pffft but Shane saved the day and further damage to the bike. Luckily, Phil Alison (who knows Gixxers like the back of his hand) along with Josh Kauffman made the repairs in record time.

I was thinking about the Barber trackday, but even if I do go. I don't need help on crashing my bikes, I do that good enough by myself..

Barber? Thought you wanted to run the perimeter track at Miller?

Don't get me wrong Kim, I do want to run Miller. But I have a friend that's from Bama , and Barber is his back yard..

Yep If anybody ever wants to do Talladega GP it's 13 miles from my parents house and Barber is only 30 miles. When I lived in FL we would drive up and about 15 of us would stay at my parents.

If you'd go to Miller you'd then have friends there... Mike has become friends with everyone that I've brought over for races.
