Remembering Randy Renfrow

I am so old that I remember meeting Randy Before He took up roadracing. He worked at a shop or two that I visited from time to time. He was a very special guy that I wish I had gotten to know a little better but never had the chance. As I moved west to New Mexico about the same time he started racing.
Last time I saw him was at the MARRC banquet around 1990.
Having been in roadracing retirement for 19 years I didn't pay much attention to the sport.
Today Michael Parrotte of AGV posted in facebook this link.
Sadly I was unaware of Randys Passing until today.

I met him a long time ago as well. He was actually pretty chearful despite his many injuries.
He actually won the superbike race that day at Willow if I recall. I was happy to have witnessed that.

They never mentioned the fact that he lost his thumb in an accident and had it replace with a toe.

Met him once when he was racing an RS250, seemed like a nice guy from the short time I spent talking to him in the pits. I remember lots more of him watching him on TV and the podium interviews.

Kinda ironic, the guy crashes motorcycles and is able to survive, only to be killed by a spill down the stairs. I guess it goes to show to always do what you love, you might not get to do it forever.
